Children's Programs

Dear Parents,

If you want your child to be happier, healthier, and safer, allow them to participate in our martial arts training!

The President’s Council on Fitness and Sports has identified activities such as martial arts as a physical activity which stimulates the brain and is good for kids. Research supports this claim. With our entry-level curriculum, we contribute to our students’ ability to cope with challenges through physical activity and focused goal-setting.

Our entry-level curriculum (Ki Do) will help your child increase his or her focus. We give our youth clear goals and show them how to reach those goals through hard work. Students at our academy accomplish personal goals, experience goal-setting, and reflect on their experience.

The mission of Delaware Hapkido is to provide a personally oriented martial arts experience, which instills a sense of pride through excellence, enabling each student to realize personal growth.  Like all martial art styles, becoming proficient with the various skills takes time and much practice.  Our academy goals are to provide students with opportunities to learn and demonstrate high moral character, self-discipline, self-identity, self-defense, and physical fitness.

In addition to character development, our academy provides various leadership training opportunities for our students.  We are a licensed Franklin Covey organization. This entitles us to teach curriculum from Franklin Covey Programs such as “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People Signature Program” and “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens.”

While you consider our school, you may be interested in two free introductory lessons. During the lessons, we will focus on fundamental self-defense skills and key Korean language commands used during classes. Introductory classes help parents make decisions about our ability to meet their needs and the needs of their child.

Thank you for visiting our martial arts academy website. We look forward to meeting with you soon to discuss your goals.  Please let us know should you have any questions.
